M&M's

Let me explain the M&M title .... a few things came to mind about March other than the St Patty's Day post earlier this month.  We have met an incredible couple Michael & Mariel who live next door to us in our town home.  They have brought joy and laughter into our lives and we are very grateful for their friendship.  Secondly, M&M's ... let's just say that I should have given those up for Lent.  I'm not sure if nursing is known to cause cravings but I'm just gonna say it does and I can't get enough M&M's, better bet I'm going to be hitting up the gym starting April 1st. March Madness, the obvious MM which took over my TV much to my dismay.  While I enjoy shooting hoops every once and a while (playing PIG mostly and making those ridiculous shots just to see if by chance I make it) it's definitely on the bottom of my sports list.  And lastly, my Main Man, Wrigley.  Wrig, I couldn't have made it through this month without the warmth of your heart, that beautiful smile, and your laugh that fills a room with love.  Click HERE for 2013 pics!

"Castles were built a stone at a time"

In honor of St. Patty's Day and in the spirit of Lent I came across this famous Irish saying, "Castles were built a stone at a time," paralleling 1 Peter 2:5 "be also yourselves like living stones, built upon him, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, so as to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." I love the month of March because year after year it allows us the opportunity to build upon our faith and nurture spiritual growth during Lent (as castles are built a stone at a time) as we humble ourselves, carving out time in our daily lives for fasting, almsgiving, and prayer.

Saint Patrick, Patron of Ireland, used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity.  He was a humble, pious, gentle man, whose love and total devotion to and trust in the Lord is inspiring.  Here's a link to learn more about his road to canonization ... Saint Patrick
